Luggage Storage Hannover: Lockers at the Main Station & Tips

You arrive in Hannover early and the room is not ready yet — or your train leaves in the evening and you want to explore the city without a suitcase? Then you need luggage storage in Hannover. Here is an overview of the usual options and a few practical tips so you do not spend your time in the city dragging a trolley case.

Lockers at Hannover main station (Hauptbahnhof)

The best-known luggage storage in Hannover is the bank of lockers at the main station. They come in different sizes — from a small compartment for a backpack or hand luggage to larger ones for suitcases. Use is charged per period and paid directly at the locker. Check the current prices, opening hours and maximum storage time on site or on the Deutsche Bahn website, as these can change.

• Look for the locker signs as soon as you arrive — they are signposted from the platforms.
• During trade fairs and at weekends the large lockers can be full; allow a little extra time.
• Valuables and documents belong in your hand luggage, not in a locker.
• Keep the receipt or code for the locker safe — without it the locker will not open.

Luggage at the airport and the Messe

Hannover Airport also offers ways to leave luggage for a short time; ask directly at the airport for details and prices. During the major fairs, the fairgrounds usually have cloakrooms with luggage drop-off in the entrance areas — handy for visitors who travel straight from the station to the Messe and leave the same day.

Drop your bags with us before check-in or after check-out

Guests of our furnished apartments at Schierholzstraße 61 in Groß-Buchholz have an easier solution: just tell us if you would like to leave luggage before check-in or after check-out. On request and by arrangement we can usually find a way, so you can use the day without your suitcase — for an appointment at the MHH, a fair day or a stroll through the city centre. Check-in and check-out are possible between 8:00 and 22:00, and on-site support is reachable around the clock, so late arrivals or early departures can be coordinated too.

Accommodation with room for luggage — instead of a locker

If you stay in Hannover for several days or weeks, you rarely need a locker: in a furnished apartment with your own wardrobe, own kitchen and free parking directly at the house, your luggage simply stays where you live. Our apartments have two to three rooms, the rooms can be set up for two to four guests — 17 furnished units in total, all with Wi-Fi, TV and access to a washing machine and dryer.

From the main station to us — without detours

The main station is 7.1 km from the accommodation. Tram line 7 brings you to us in about 20 minutes; the stop is roughly 550 m from the house. From the airport (14 km) it is around 15 minutes by taxi or car. Send us your arrival time on WhatsApp and we will explain the easiest route and hand over the keys in person.
